About REBORN
______________________________________________

”The role of the revolutionary artist is to make revolution irresistible.”
-
Toni Cade Bambara, (1939-1995), writer, activist

The mission of REBORN is to engage, transform and innovatively address the most challenging individual, collective and environmental current fears of living in community. Through engaging and sharing - traditional and innovative visions and practices by cultural, spiritual and political workers through events, the written word and multimedia art practice.

REBORN is a repetitive ritual of truth - visioning the needs of our selves, community and environment living together. REBORN is the conceptual vision of Noelle Lorraine Williams in collaboration with other individuals and organizations.

REBORN produces
VISIONARY a monthly online interview project that profiles individuals who are using culture to urgently, innovatively and daringly re-imagine how we live this existence. Through engaging each artist’s greatest visions and deepest fears it seeks to sustain, document, share and ultimately transform how we live and feel about community as individuals internationally.

"We've decided that New Jersey-based Noelle Lorraine Williams is not so much artist as she is one-woman industry and shamanistic visionary." - Code Z Online www.codezonline.com

"100 Women We Love" -
GO NYC Magazine  www,gomag.com

"Williams ...has made an installation of masked childlike figures...a thoughtful, provocative installation." - New York Times

Noelle Lorraine Williams (REBORN) visual, written and community work explores the ways we use our bodies to spiritually engage the core of our consciousness, community and environment. Her work unearths the collective needs and fears that surface in the process.

Though conceptual in nature her art practice is composed of event coordination, sculpture, installation and performance - she explores the rituals (religious, activist and legal) and the stories (myths, scripture and history) to see the truth of our current condition and shape new practices of compassion. Williams visual art practice builds on thirteen years of student and community cultural and political organizing and four years of art practice. Williams graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Historical Inquiry from the New School for Social Research.

Her body of work is conceptual in nature under the theme REBORN at www.rebornhome.com the intersections of spirituality, art and activism in addressing the most challenging individual, collective and environmental fears of living in community.
